The Firearms Instruction, Research and Education Institute was established in 2003 and is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We offer affordable Firearms training with some of the best Instructors in the country. Our training methods are largely based on the Modern Technique as pioneered by Lt. Col. Jeff Cooper in the late 1970's at Gunsite. We are staffed with competently trained and highly motivated volunteers. At present we are planning the 2008 Course Schedule. Specific courses and dates are being finalized. A preliminary schedule through June 2008 is currently posted on our Course Schedule page.

Kindly take the time to read our prerequisites page. There are several courses that require a previous level of training from the F.I.R.E. Institute or from instructors or other firearms training schools with whom we are familiar.
