Randy Cain - Cumberland Tactics
Randy Cain, owner of Cumberland Tactics, operates a mobile firearms training company. The FIRE Institute has sponsored several of Randy's courses, namely Shotgun 1 and Practical Rifle. We hope to have Randy back for many more courses as he is known in training circles as an exceptional instructor. Randy is also skilled in martial arts and often teams with Steve Tarani for CQT (Close Quarters Tactics) courses with both Handgun and Carbine.
Steve Tarani is a full-time defensive tactics instructor, and an internationally respected Contact Weapons and personal safety expert. Mr. Tarani provides high-profile operational skills development training for various government agencies, worldwide. Currently a sworn police officer in the State of California, Mr. Tarani is Senior Defensive Tactics instructor for the Del Rey Oaks Police Dept. (CA), on staff at the U.S. Department of Energy Nonproliferation and National Security Institute (Central Training Academy), the Security Force Training Department at Kirtland Air Force Base (NM), and the Gunsite Academy in Paulden, Arizona. Mr. Tarani is the Director of Training for Operational Skills Group, LLC, through which he provides his courses in Pittsburgh. Mr. Tarani can be reached at 949.515.0905.
Steve Tarani is also known for popularizing the Karambit utility knife. The Karambit (pronounced kah-rahm-bit) is a remarkable utility knife that was born in the Indonesian archipelago with roots in Malaysia and the Philippines. Akin to the Swiss Army knife of today, this was the “pocket knife” of ancient villagers. This extraordinary little personal tool was first documented to be carried around the early 11th century AD and to this very day can be seen in various remote locations throughout the Indonesian islands, parts of Malaysia and the Southern Philippine islands. The predominant uses of the Karambit in ancient times were similar to the uses of the European pocket knife: field work, including cutting twine or rope; chopping fruits and vegetables; and, in some rare cases, as an exceptional personal safety knife. Please visit http://www.karambit.com for a wealth of information regarding not only the history but the general purpose and defensive use of the Karambit in both ancient and modern times.

Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association
The Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association was founded in 2006 by Daniel Pehrson to create a single point of information for everything related to owning, carrying, and shooting firearms in the state of Pennsylvania. From laws and politics (both federal and state) to finding places to shoot, to making friends and finding hunting buddies, our goal is simply to bring together this very large group of people within our state to accomplish what we can't accomplish alone.
